A visit could make a difference regarding your LOSAP

fire station visit - LOSAPs(September 18, 2014) As you know, your Length of Service Awards Program is very different from any other type of program your emergency service organization may be involved with. Different can be a very good thing; but it may also present you with some uncertainties. By way of example, consider the following items that may cause you to have questions about your LOSAP:

  • Plan costs

  • Plan specifications

  • Funding status

  • Legislative compliance

  • EEOC concerns

  • Addition or termination of members

  • Members reaching entitlement age

  • Amending Plan documents

  • Transition to a new Plan Administrator in your organization

  • Relaying LOSAP information between you and your agent

Did you know that help could be just a phone call away?  It’s true!  If you find yourself in need of assistance, you may contact the Specialty Benefits Division at any time to request a visit from one of our representatives.  By contacting us, we can help determine how best to assist you. Sometimes, arrangements may be made for your Pension Administrator to come meet with you. Many client visits are made by Kathy Sibol (Assistant Manager, Specialty Benefits Division). Kathy has more than 15 years of experience working face-to-face with LOSAP clients, and we are proud to be able to make her expertise available to you.

One of our representatives would be happy to meet with you and those involved with making decisions regarding your LOSAP (including your legal counsel, financial advisors, and your agent). These face-to-face meetings can help you gain a better understanding of your Program, and affords us the privilege of getting to know you better. Fostering open communication between all parties will help your LOSAP to operate more effectively.
